Embrace Your Song With Voice Lessons

Looking for voice lessons? Look no further! With voice lessons, everyone can sing. Yes, everyone. There’s a myth that some people are just born with amazing voices and that you either have it or you don’t. Don’t believe the myths! Singing is just like any other skill and can be learned. With the right teacher and some practice, anyone can sing.

My studio is a positive and enthusiastic environment. I teach students the foundations of music, so they can understand and share the joy of self-expression. During lessons, students discover and develop their own authentic voices. From matching pitch to how to hit that high note, we’ll explore what happens in the voice and body when we sing and how to maintain a healthy voice.

Preparing for your voice lessons

Starting anything new can be nerve-wracking, but once you’ve taken that first step the results are so rewarding! To start with, be sure to bring a water bottle, notebook, and pencil with you to your lesson. I’ve always found it helpful to keep a music bag that has all my materials together in one spot. If this is your first lesson, consider making a list of some songs and musicians you like. The first lesson is all about getting to know each other and getting comfortable. I want to understand what you’re looking for in your voice lessons, so I can make them as fun and helpful as possible. Most importantly, remember singing is fun!

Voice lessons start with a few minutes of vocal warmups. Just like you need to stretch and exercise the rest of your body to run a race, you need to stretch and exercise your voice to sing. Warmups focus on developing the muscles you need to sing and are chosen specifically for the students needs. Throughout the lesson, students will learn by performing songs of their choice while developing ear training and sight-reading skills. Voice lessons are rooted in healthy vocal technique. Students explore various styles of music, including musical theater, pop, classical, folk, and jazz.

Embrace Your Song.

  • During lessons, we’ll practice a variety of warm-ups and exercises designed to strengthen your voice and develop your healthy and authentic voice.

  • No one is just one thing. That’s why we’ll try a range of vocal styles. Sometimes we’ll sing that pop song you’ve been obsessed with and sometimes we’ll try something a bit more foreign. It’s all about gaining access to your entire of your voice and all it can do!

  • Let’s be honest, at the end of the day, we sing because it feels good. Whether you’ve got the blues or are trilling with joy, the feelings you convey are what make a tune a song.
